Care for hips and knees that ache on stairs, on a walk or getting out of a chair, and for people rebuilding strength after a joint replacement.
This care is for you if…
Stairs, curbs or getting out of a chair hurt your hip or knee
Your knee swells, locks or gives way
You are waiting for a joint replacement and want to be as strong as you can be
You had a hip or knee replacement and your surgeon has sent a protocol
You want to walk, kneel or garden without planning around your knee

What to know about hip and knee care
What we do
We test the hip, knee, ankle and low back together, treat stiff joints and tight tissue by hand, and build strength and balance in steps. Before or after a replacement, we follow your surgeon's plan.
What decides how many visits
Your exam, your goals, your surgeon's protocol and how your joint responds. We tell you what we see at each stage and when something is worth a call to your surgeon.
Who treats you
A physical therapist from our five, each with a manual-therapy fellowship. Xiu Zeng and Kellen Fenwick see most hip and knee patients.
How it is paid for
We bill most plan types and explain what you may owe before your first visit. If you pay yourself, we give you a written estimate first.
How fees workWhen to see a doctor first
Call your surgeon or doctor the same day if a calf is swollen, hot and tender, or if a new wound is red or draining. For chest pain or trouble breathing, call 911.
What to bring
Your surgeon's protocol if you have one, the shoes you walk in most, and shorts or loose pants you can bend a knee in.
Questions about hip and knee
Should I come before my replacement?
Many surgeons like patients to start before the operation. If yours does, bring their instructions and we plan around the date.
How do you handle a surgeon's protocol?
We follow it as written, including precautions and limits on motion. If something in your exam does not fit, we call your surgeon's office before changing anything.
Will exercise hurt my joint?
We work within what you can tolerate. Some movements are uncomfortable. Tell us, and we change what we are doing.
Ready to have your hip or knee examined?
We call you before your first visit to check your benefits.
